Montville Pavilion House
Montville, QLD
Project Overview
Situated on the western edge of a 25-acre property on the Blackall Range near Montville, this home was carefully designed to respond to its steep and challenging site. Comprising two pavilions overlooking Baroon Pocket Dam in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, the design maximises breathtaking views while remaining grounded in the landscape.
Rammed earth walls anchor the home to the site, providing exceptional thermal mass and a strong connection to its natural surroundings. Full-height glazing opens every room to the expansive outlook, while the two-pavilion layout separates the owners' private retreat from guest accommodation, linked by a central outdoor living space.
