Project Overview

Located at Pretty Plains Station in Central Queensland, the Jericho Station Homestead was designed to respond to the region's harsh climate through the use of thick rammed earth walls. Constructed with 400mm and 500mm walls, the home benefits from exceptional thermal mass, helping to regulate indoor temperatures throughout the year.

A standout feature is the impressive 900mm-thick rammed earth wall, which houses the slow-combustion wood heater and flue, with an integrated ventilation opening cast directly into the wall. The result is a robust, climate-responsive homestead that combines practicality with the timeless beauty of natural materials.
