It had to happen – after 35 years our CEO John Oliver has finally retired from active daily duty on the rammed earth work site.
From building the company from scratch in 1989 to contracting for multi-million dollar commercial projects, it’s been quite the journey. It’s hard to let go after such passion and effort, but most fortunately, we have a worthy successor to take the company forward.
Our nephew, Dean Burge, has moved up from NSW to take on Rammed Earth Constructions. He’s already an experienced and licenced carpenter and builder, and he gained much experience in rammed earth working alongside John and our long time crew in Sydney on the challenging Sydney Modern Project. Since then he has worked on numerous rammed earth projects in NSW and QLD, creating some excellent and beautiful work. (eg Gerard’s Bistro, Quampi Indigenous Arts Centre, Australian Outback Museum, to name just a few.)
All new rammed earth project work should now be directed to Dean via dean@rammedearthconstructions.com.au, dean@dburgebuilding.com or by calling him direct on 0413 626 677.
John will continue provide knowledge, advice and resources to Dean as he develops the business. He hasn’t entirely lost his high-vis lifestyle – he can still be found from time to time on site, working alongside Dean.
Thank you to all the many clients over the years who gave us such great encouragement, feedback and warmth. We are so happy that we met you, and even more that we can count so many of you as friends.
