Crystal Waters Eco House
Built in 1993, this house in Crystal Waters Ecovillage, near Conondale, uses wire brushed rammed earth as the primary building material. Recycled windows and doors were sourced from salvage yards. Weatherboards and hardwood floor boards are reject-grade hardwood.

A two bedroom cottage built for a retired couple near Maleny. The owners wanted a solar passive design with strong ecological design criteria. The building designer, Chris Rew, designed the building well, with the owners reporting that the house works extremely well all year round.

Buderim Georgian/Colonial style home
The owner of this colonial style home wanted a rammed earth home to suit her early colonial Australian furniture. She designed the home to fit it. The wire-brush finish to the rammed earth obscured the formwork lines. Built in 1994, it continues to look good in 2017.
