Noosa Pengari School Hall

A multi coloured rammed earth wall achieved using different coloured soils. Sunshine Coast hinterland, near Noosa, Qld.

The Noosa Pengari Steiner School was designed by WD Architects. We were contracted to build the rammed earth wall for the hall, and proposed a multi-coloured ‘wild wall’, since this was to be the school’s entertainment and assembly room.  The different coloured layers in the wall have been achieved using different soils; no oxides were used.  The building has won a number of design and construction awards.
